Katie McQuaide,
LCSW-R, ADHD-CCSP

I have been working with children and families for over ten years. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I have additional training as an ADHD-Certified Clinical Service Provider. This certification has given me expertise in diagnosing and treating individuals with ADHD.
My experience includes work in a variety of settings, including community-based services, outpatient clinics, and school-based mental health. I have provided individual therapy to children as well as family therapy and parent skill building. I also have run social skills groups for elementary aged children and conducted diagnostic evaluations for children and adults with ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder. I also have experience in clinic administration and clinical supervision.
The scope of my present work focuses on working with elementary aged children and their caregivers. I specialize in working with children with executive functioning challenges. Some examples of executive deficits include distractibility, inattentiveness, disorganization, poor task initiation, emotional dysregulation, memory difficulties, and challenges with planning/prioritizing. These deficits are often evident in the diagnosis of ADHD but can present in children without this disorder as well.

My approach to treatment brings together the expertise that parents and caregivers have on their children with my expertise in brain development and human behavior. By partnering together, we can help children be successful and thrive.
